KATHERINE SAWYER

In 2010 owner Katherine Sawyer set out to create a space where clients felt welcomed and cared for, placing emphasis on giving everyone excellent customer care. Besides having a full clientele of her own, Katherine's primary role is salon educator, developing new stylists. Katherine began her career at age 16 training with some of the best stylists and colorists in the Bay Area and went on to study at Jean Louis Deforge Academie in Paris and the Toni & Guy Hair Academy in London. In 1992, Katherine opened her first salon, dava dava, on Union St in San Francisco. The salon enjoyed 15 successful years, during which she developed a loyal clientele that still see her today. Katherine has styled hair for runway, television and video, performed at hair shows, as well as having done bridal hair and makeup for many years. She is a certified Master Colorist with Framesi and has traveled to Italy and Spain for Framesi events and classes. Most recently she has taken advanced color classes in Davines PPD-free color hair color and attended an intensive color coaching class for Kemon, adding NaYo, ammonia and PPD-free color to her repertoire. Becoming a green-certified salon was always very important to Katherine and being able to join Green Circle Salons in 2017 has made that possible.

AMANDA BETTATI

Amanda comes to us with over 20 years of experience as an esthetician doing facial services, waxing, lash and brow tinting, as well as lash lifts. Her lovely demeanor coupled with her technical knowledge will instantly put you at ease. Having first received a cosmetology license, Amanda went on to graduate from the Dermal Institute in LA to pursue her love of skincare. She regularly attends spa conventions and seminars to hone her craft and continually stays abreast of all the newest developments in the industry. Amanda incorporates her wonderful massage techniques into every facial so you never have to choose between the two. Having been to many Arcona seminars she swears by the Arcona line and uses their protocols for all of her treatments. Amanda also did a stint in Hawaii and while working there, helped open and run numerous spas on the islands. Amanda has recently added the buccal technique after training with Holly Pope who is an expert in the facial massage methode taught in Paris. Le buccal gives a facelift effect using oral manipulations inside the mouth, increasing blood circulation to the skin and relaxing the facial muscles. Amanda also has brought back one of her past specialties, which is lash lifts after they have gained popularity again. ALISA MOORE

We are so happy to welcome Alisa to the team! Alisa has been in the industry since 1998 working in the Bay Area at notable salons such as Cowboys and Angels in SF, Festoon in Berkeley, and Marquee in Oakland. Both her mom and Grandmother were hairdressers so doing hair is in her soul! Alisa is Bumble and Sassoon trained and is a master at razor cutting and scissor work. She is an expert at blonding and a color specialist having taken many advanced balayage classes and cutting from top industry educators throughout her career. Alisa loves styling and special event hair and has done a lot of editorial work in the past,.Alisa is available Tuesday through Friday and every other Saturday. COURTNI TRIPLETT

Courtni started her professional journey in 2013 at Paul Mitchell in Sacramento and was licensed in 2014 (and has been giving Mohawks to friends since 2007). She is a DevaCurl Inspired Stylist as well as having completed advanced education with Davines for cutting and color, Goldwell color, Oribe cutting, Hatori Hanzo cutting, and Redken color. Courtni has also had advanced cutting with Ruth Roche. She is also certified in Keratin Complex Smoothing treatments. Making someone feel better than when they walked in is what makes her love this profession and gives her the most joy. Courtni strongly believes in taking excellent care of her clients and is passionate about working in an eco-friendly salon that uses healthy and sustainable products.

KAITRIN SEARS

Kaitrin Sears' style journey began during her high school years when her mother got her a subscription to Sassy magazine. She remembers the inspiration she felt thumbing through the magazine's pages and the excitement of finding her natural affinity for fashion. Never afraid to try something new, Kaitrin enjoys pushing the boundaries of what's expected and accepted. She thinks personal expression should be limitless. When designing for clients, Kaitrin takes into account the natural growth of the hair and how that individual wants to identify with their style. Kaitrin believes there is fluidity to everything in life, and movement has a hand in how she adds her own personal touch to her designs. From the moment she began cosmetology school she was creating new and unexpected styles as well as learning to master the classics. Kaitrin joined FUTURE a month after it opened its door in 2010 bringing with her over 15 years of experience that she gained while working at Alexander Pope. Kaitrin has also been involved with hair, makeup and wardrobe for fashion shows and photo shoots and wishes to continue to pursue this outlet for her talents. An expert colorist, Kaitrin has a unique artistic eye with creative color work.

ARI MADKIN

Licensed since 2017, Ari has a passion for doing cool hair and loves helping people express themselves. She strives to give every client in her chair the hair of their dreams. Ari especially LOVES doing balayage, Ombré, and Vivid colors, as well as customizing cuts for every gender. She also likes doing color corrections, grey coverage, and foil highlighting. Having worked in SF before the pandemic, Ari is happy to be back on this side of the bay and to be building her clientele here in Oakland. Since coming to FUTURE Ari has taken an advanced Davines color class and become certified in the Keratin Complex smoothing system. Ari is at the salon Wednesday through Saturday. JINKY TAMORO

Jinky began doing hair to make people feel good and give them confidence, believing fashion and beauty are a way to say who you are without having to speak. Jinky has been at FUTURE since 2018 and is the go-to for kids and teen cuts as well as long haircuts, color, and blowouts. Her work is thoughtful and caring and she gives the best shampoo and head massage! Jinky has had many advanced classes with educators from our salon brands and in-depth color classes. Her foil work is excellent and she has also been certified in Keratin Smoothing treatments as well as Framesi Silis Smoothing which can be requested by emailing the salon. She is currently available on Wednesdays Thursdays and Fridays.

GENEVA JONICK

Geneva is a rising star at FUTURE, bringing with them a bachelor's degree in fine arts and psychology to their love for all things hair. Geneva has just been promoted onto the floor after completing training as a new talent and is available for kids, teens, adult cuts, all-over color, balayage, highlights, as well as keratin smoothing treatments, blowdrys, and styling. Geneva has taken advanced color classes from Davines educators at the salon along with cutting classes from the team and continues to hone their skills. Geneva happily accommodates all gender-affirming styles and is passionate about color and cute funky cuts.
